The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends against thyroid cancer screening in the general population. This recommendation applies to adults who:
- Don’t have a family history of thyroid cancer
- Don’t have previous exposure
- Don’t have certain inherited genetic cancer conditions
- Don’t have symptoms
